INCENTIVE TOUR IN IRELAND, AMONG NATURE, CULTURE, MYTHS AND LEGENDS

EVENTS AND CONGRESSES IN THE EMERALD ISLE

An incentive trip to Ireland is an experience that leaves its mark in your heart.

This land, which not for nothing is called the Emerald Isle, with its legends, culture and the beauty of its landscapes, truly enters your soul. The traces of its past not only can be found in its architectural artworks and archaeological artifacts, but also in its annual celebrations, in music and in numerous stories that populate Irish tradition and which we have already spoken a little bit about in our previous article.

Therefore, the incentive trip to Ireland should not to be considered as random, but as a special moment to be used to enforce connections and to improve the spirit of the group. I am talking about personal experience, because a few years ago I had the opportunity to attend a company meeting in Ireland and until now I still remember this marvelous experience.

First of all, the flight to Dublin only takes two hours and a half. Then, when you arrive, you are welcomed in an efficient and well-organized airport, which is located 13 km away from the city.

You should prepare your luggage with all the necessary clothes and items for a “temperamental” climate. In Ireland you can experience all 4 seasons in only one day: from the warmth of the sun, to the wind and rain. But do not worry, because this climate has its fascination and can be considered as a very interesting alternative.

However, despite the rain, we can assure you that in any case your incentive trip program will be successful, because this place offers many proposals of traditional or alternative character to the company events, and every one of them are very interesting.

The small dimensions of the island offer the possibility of moving quickly from one place to another, visiting historical places and enjoying the countryside views, which could spice up your Team Building by giving it a very personal and unique touch.

Not only Dublin…

Congress halls of an avant-garde architecture such as the Convention Centre of Dublin, the luxury Adare Manor of Limerick, the Ashford Castle or the modern The Europe Hotel & Resort with their perfect positioning, offer views of exceptional beauty.

But if you want to move outside the conventional canons, what do you think about organizing your congress in the halls of Jameson Distillery in the County Cork?
This could be an enthralling alternative, which will offer the guests of your incentive the possibility to discover the processes of the true Irish whiskey production. Its meeting hall can host up to 300 people and the distillery is located in a wonderful position, which will permit you to explore the surrounding countryside, famous for its wilderness beauty and numerous villages that characterize it.

If instead you would like to do something different, but want to remain in Dublin, you should consider the Guinness Store House. Its high and curved iron structure represent a delicious pint, while the Gravity Bar, located in the highest point of the building, offers panoramic view to the city. Its meeting hall can host up to 650 participants.

The leisure of recreational moments starts from the visit to Dublin, where you breathe the air of history, art, music and a lot of literature, and continues to the Wild Atlantic Way.

The first incentive tour program starts with a trip to the discovering of the Irish capital and visiting places that truly should not be missed, such as the St Patrick’s Cathedral and the Christ Church Cathedral, which is located 10 minutes away. Then, continues to the Trinity College and visiting its Long Room – one of the most beautiful European libraries where more than 200.000 ancient books and the famous Book of Kells (a magnificent decorated manuscript of Early Christian era) are kept.
Also, the chaotic and incoherent Dublin Castel and the immense and scary Kilmainham Gaol (the biggest and unused European prison, with its cold walls that tells countless stories) are a “must” to visit.

The streets of Dublin have many surprises for you and while walking them you can suddenly find yourself standing in front of Oscar Wilde’s house or the store where the musicians of U2 bought their guitars. There are many famous artists with Irish origins such as Robert Boyle, George Bernard Shaw, Jonathan Swift, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Farrell, Bono Vox, James Joice…

The second proposal is the Wild Atlantic Way. This incentive itinerary is perfect for team building with the goal of employees’ motivation. The corporate incentive group trips that need to refresh their minds and souls with group activities, will be at ease here in this place.
It shows the most wild and naturalistic side of Ireland.

The coast, with its 2500 km, offers breathtaking views and spectacular landscapes. There are five stops which are truly a “must” to visit:

  • Donegal and the Slieve League cliffs
  • Westport with its lovely city center
  • Galway and its breathtaking views
  • Killarney and its National Park
  • Cork the second city in Ireland for the number of inhabitants
  • Of course, it is possible to combine different possibilities and decide to start from Dublin with a one-day excursion to one of the Wild Atlantic Way stops, closest to the capital.

Furthermore, do not forget to also include in your convention program a visit to medieval city of Kilkenny, which is rich in stories of ghosts and where it is possible to set-up the “Ghost Tour” for a spooky moment.

In short, in Ireland everyone can find something interesting for themselves!
